For this assignment I was tasked with creating a series of animated posters around the history of rockets as an introduction to 3D modeling and 3D animation. For my series, I wanted to honor the history of the NASA's space program sending Americans to space by acknowledging the past, present, and future of space travel; the first poster pays tribute to the first mission that put a man on the moon, Apollo 11, the second poster acknowledges the ongoing efforts of Americans living in space aboard International Space Station (ISS), and the final poster honors future Artemis missions that will bring humanity back to the moon and beyond. To complete this speculative poster series for NASA, I 3D modeled and textured Apollo 11 and Artemis 1 in Cinema 4D. Additionally, I created the 2D design for the speculative “50 Years of Americans in Space” logo and also modeled the 3D version of the logo. I created the design of the posters in Adobe Illustrator and animated the posters in both Cinema 4D and Adobe After Effects.
